Haakaa's milk collector ensures that no milk goes to waste between feedings. Specifically designed for women experiencing overproduction or excessive milk flow during breastfeeding, this discreetly designed milk collector can be conveniently placed inside a bra to collect excess breast milk, preventing it from being wasted in nursing pads. The Ladybug is easy to carry anywhere and equipped with small feet at the bottom, allowing it to stand upright after removal from the bra, thus avoiding spills. When it's time to empty the collector, simply remove the plug at the top and pour the breast milk into a container or bottle.
The milk collector also features a smart function where you can increase milk expression by squeezing the collector to create a small vacuum. This maximizes the amount of milk leaked from the breast when not nursing. It's important to note that the milk collector is not a breast pump. For active pumping, we recommend using Haakaa's breast pump.
The milk can be stored in Haakaa's silicone storage bags.
In terms of storing breast milk, we recommend following the guidelines from the
Health Authority:
Freshly expressed breast milk:
• Up to 3 days in the refrigerator at max. +5°C
• Up to 6 months in the freezer at -18°C
Thawed breast milk:
• Slowly thawed milk can last for 1 day in the refrigerator
• Quickly thawed milk should be used immediately
• Thawed milk should not be refrozen
Heated breast milk:
Leftover heated milk should always be discarded.
Instructions for using the Ladybug silicone milk collector:
1 - Place the large opening of the Ladybug over the nipple and adjust it until it feels comfortable and milk can flow.
2 - The bra can be worn over it. If you want to collect more milk, apply vacuum pressure by pressing on the container until you feel suction.
3 - Leave the Ladybug on the breast during the day.
4 - Remove the Ladybug when it's full of milk or at least once an hour.
5 - Remove the plug and pour the milk into a container or bottle.
Cleaning and hygiene of your Ladybug:
We recommend cleaning your Ladybug after each use by sterilizing it with boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Do not use cleaning agents, bleach, or UV devices as they may damage the Ladybug and its lifespan.
